“Mansfield University was in my blood, having been a child of two Mansfield State College graduates ‘66. The four years that I spent at Mansfield taught me one of the most important life lessons that I could have ever learned. That was the ability to not only study large amounts of information, but how to make that knowledge MINE. Studying for an exam and the ability to remember it for the short term is all about having a good GPA and receiving your undergraduate degree. What I learned at Mansfield was the ability to OWN the knowledge forever and pass it on to other individuals though out my personal and professional life. My professors were personal and hands on as instructors. The campus life was amazing. Playing 4 years for the Mansfield University basketball program was another college experience that far exceeded my expectations. Working as a color commentator for WNTE for the football and baseball programs with individuals like Freddie Coleman, now of ESPN, was invaluable and a total blast. I worked in the Resident Life programs of Mansfield as an resident assistant for 3 of my 4 years while attending as well. This enabled me to feel like I knew almost everyone on campus well enough to say hello to them while passing them on the way to classes on campus. My overall experience at Mansfield University was one of the best four year stretches I experienced through out my life. I highly recommend it as a university; if you allow it to, it makes your college experience very personal and will give you a long lasting set of memories”
